Future Shows

Aug- The Face of Freedom - Jacquie and Katie in charge)

What does freedom look like to you? Who or what inspires you? We are living in tumultuous times, both at home and internationally. And, as always, there are brave souls who step up to speak their truth, fight for freedom and call out injustices. There are also ideas, movements and organizations that make a difference.

You can depict your chosen subject in any medium. We are hoping for portraits, collages, paintings, sculptures, paper mache… anything that provides a platform for you to share your response.

Open to all Mendocino and Lake County residents, $10 fee for each entry (limit of 3), with checks made out to Art Center Ukiah. Completed entry forms and all ready-to-hang work (NO sawtooth hangers) must be delivered for jurying to the Corner Gallery (201 S State St in Ukiah) on Tuesday July 29 between 11 and 5 or on Wednesday July 30 between 11 and noon. Nov- Quick Draw- Jacquie in charge

Quick Draw is by invitation only. This event is a proven crowd favorite, and it will return to ACU for another whirl this year. Participating artists will set up their easels on First Friday and draw live models throughout the evening. It’s a special opportunity for members of the public to witness the process of talented artists creating a likeness of a person from start to finish. The participating artists will all have finished examples of their work up on the walls, in addition to the sketches they create during the evening.

The First Friday opening of this show is November 7, from 5-8pm.
