Red Wolf, local Mendocino artist of international acclaim, returns with a show of his latest works for the month of October. Red Wolf was founding member of the Corner Gallery Ukiah founded in 2008. His work was on display there until 2011. He also acted as a key member of the Board of Art Center Ukiah the non-profit community gallery, a division of the Corner Gallery.

Red Wolf works on sandwiched honeycomb aluminum panels. He starts by etching on the aluminum to reflect light. Scoring highly reflective groove patterns he is able to produce a three dimensional illusion approaching the fundamental characteristics of a rainbow diffraction gradient holography.  The painted layers incorporate thin films, nano particles and optical coatings to embed structural color elements. Today’s material science enables him to arrange nano structures and effect optics creating artwork in ways unlike anything that has been possible before.
