Polly is no stranger to the Corner Gallery. She is a frequent contributor to the gallery's revolving display of art by members of the Mendocino County Art Association, and her work has been featured numerous times in both solo and group shows in the front windows. And now she is back by popular demand, with a load of new and heretofore unseen paintings.
Polly's medium is oil, and she knows her way around the technique of brushing paint on canvas to achieve lively, glowing and frequently quirky landscapes and still lifes. A longtime resident of Mendocino County, Polly studied for decades under the expert guidance of Adele Pruitt, one of our county's true artistic treasures. Though Adele recently passed away, Polly keeps to her revered tradition of regular studio hours, producing new work all the time. Polly laughs, "I paint twice a week, and nobody should dare disturb me on Wednesdays and Fridays!"
